Turn in today: DLP 40-50 & POS Review

Assignments: POS packet due tomorrow. POS test. / Unit 6 vocabulary 4-square due Friday before the test. 

**Last Day to make up or AMP the unit 4 test and open-note quiz will be Wednesday, November 16 during Smart lunch.**


Today in class we spent time reviewing material from the parts of sentence unit. We had already complete 95% of the packet in class, a good portion of that together. Students also worked together to complete a review activity that consisted of guided questions as well as a website to practice (http://englishgrammar101.com/sentence-structure). I encouraged students to continue reviewing with practice at home. Finally, teams had the second half of class to finish planning and finalizing presentations for tomorrow. I provided a brief example in class using a different presentation site available to students (​https://app.emaze.com/editor/@AWCWCWQO). The example served merely as a springboard for teams.

Tomorrow is a big day in class. In 2nd & 4th periods I emphasized the weight of the day as two major units are coming to an end. Class will begin with the POS test and finish with presentations. The breakdown is as follows:
  • POS test= 100 points major assessment
  • POS packet = 40 points practice & process
  • 10 paraphrases + 10 margin questions = 100 points minor assessment
  • Literary analysis + 10 test questions = 100 points major assessment
  • Team presentation = 100 points major assessment
​That's 440 points!!
