We began with DLP, and I reviewed the words for unit 7. Only 2nd period received a 4-square worksheet. The other classes have been instructed to complete the vocabulary homework on their own paper. Each of the following items should be included: word, definition in own words, synonym, antonym, sentence, and picture or symbol. If students prefer, they may print out a worksheet from this site under the vocabulary tab. We began our unit on Greek drama today. We will be reading Antigone, Sophocles' 3rd play, continuing the story of Oedipus. I provided notes on Greek theater and reviewed the story of Oedipus. Students copied notes, and the slides are available under the literature tab. Students also read in class. Reading assignments vary as classes are using different books. (First period students have been given a book to keep carry with them. They are responsible for the care of this book. I will not have extras for them to use in class.) I spoke individually with some teams regarding the work they submitted for the Iliad project if they were only missing one or two pieces. Others will need to see me to discuss the project and develop a resolution. I have assigned dates for teams from 1st period to meet with me during Smart lunch. These dates are not optional. In 2nd and 4th periods I have given students individual contracts. They must complete and submit the proposal to me in class tomorrow. The contract specifies what they intend to do to improve their grade and deadlines. NOT ALL students received these contracts, only those 2nd and 4th period teams who failed to meet the basic expectations outline in the assignment. Comments are closed.
